Mykhailo Mudryk got his third international goal by scoring the game’s only goal in a Nations League contest against Euro 2024 darlings Georgia last night.

Ukraine dominated the first half and Mudryk made sure they made their advantage count, before a much more even second half saw them defend and hang on the slim advantage. Mudryk did force a good save in the second half as well with another effort from distance while Georgia saw a late equalizer ruled out correctly for offside.

Meanwhile, Nicolas Jackson also got on the scoresheet, finally, for his first ever senior international goal, putting the cherry on top of an easy 4-0 win for Senegal against ten-man Malawi in World Cup qualifying.

Jackson got the start, as he has been lately for Senegal, and would eventually find paydirt, with the game’s last goal in the 77th minute — thanks in part to some horrendous goalkeeping after fashioning a shooting chance surrounded by a few defenders.

Congrats, Nico!

Elsewhere, overnight, both Enzo Fernández and Moisés Caicedo (and Kendry Páez) settled for draws in World Cup qualifying, against Venezuela (1-1) and Paraguay (0-0), respectively. Caicedo played the full-90 while Enzo was withdrawn just a few minutes from time.
