Lahore, with an air quality index (AQI) recorded at 208, was ranked as Pakistan’s most polluted city on Saturday.

Lahore was followed by Rawalpindi where the AQI stood at 192.

Similarly, Karachi with AQI 179, Multan with AQI 172, Peshawar with AQI 160, and Islamabad with AQI 72 emerged as the country’s third, fourth, fifth, and sixth most polluted cities.

The air quality was worse in Johar Town locality of Lahore where it stood at 282 on the index.

The AQI at the US consulate was recorded at 227, while 208 at Thokar Niaz Beg and 200 at Askari-10.

Meanwhile, nip in the air is increasing in the provincial capital with each passing day.

The minimum temperature on Saturday was recorded at 27 degrees Celsius.

On the other hand, the Met Office forecast dry weather for the city during the next 24 hours.
